Capacity & Constraints Survey
As part of the New Zealand Contractors’ Federation’s commitment to the development of New Zealand’s infrastructure assets, we interact constantly with many local and central government agencies in the interests of maintaining a healthy industry environment.
Your participation in this survey will assist clients in understanding the capacity and flexibility of the New Zealand Civil Construction industry and its ability to respond to challenges that lay ahead as the economy turns into the winds of economic recovery.
Your contribution will result in a better informed industry and the ability for clients to understand the Contracting industry and perhaps for them to plan work to maximize the benefits to their constituencies through better informed and intelligent procurement practices – hopefully contributing to smoothing out the boom bust peaks and accelerating New Zealand’s economic recovery.

Annual ConferenceEach year you will receive an invitation to attend the Annual Conference to hear about and discuss issues of concern to contractors. You will decide on the business plan for the Federation and elect the Federation’s governing body – the Executive Council. You will also be able to enjoy the fellowship of other contractors attending the conference. If you cannot attend you will still be able to let someone vote for you by proxy.

As a member you are invited to enter the annual Hirepool Construction Awards which recognises excellence in the New Zealand construction industry. Information on the awards and application forms are sent out each year in April.

NZCF / Shell People Awards 2008

The Shell People Awards have been developed by New Zealand Contractors’ Federation with the assistance of Shell (NZ) to recognise the outstanding training achievements of individuals within the Civil Construction Industry. This is an opportunity to reward those who are outstanding in their field.
Shell through NZCF seeks your assistance to identify those individuals who deserve to have their success honoured for their commitment to training over the past year.Entries open in May 2010 and close June 2010, please contact Tricia Sampson at tricia@nzcontractors.co.nz or 04 496 3278 for criteria and application form or click on link below.

Each year the Federation provides the opportunity for excavator operators to compete for the national title of "best multi skilled excavator operator nation wide". Competitions are held in each region with the national title being competed for at the Central Districts Field Days in Fielding in March. The competition is well sponsored and prizes competed for change annually but generally have a value around $3000.00.
